If both parties don't read the same language, what do I need to add to the prenup?

I understand the importance of ensuring both parties fully understand the prenup. What languages do each party speak?

Both speak Spanish and read it. Husband speaks and reads English.

Are you looking for a specific clause or provision to address the language barrier in the prenup?

I would assume so.

Is there anything else the Family Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they'll be able to help with language in the prenup.

I would like to also add more terms to the contract.

Only one party speaks English?

Husband speaks and reads English and Spanish.

Wife only speaks and reads Spanish.

For legal use, the document would need to be in English for the court, but a translated copy should also be provided to the party who may not understand English.

Because she only speaks Spanish, for enforceability, she would need a translated copy provided to her. If they are using lawyers, she also may want a Spanish-speaking attorney.

Also, what's the process of making the document legal?

Elizabeth

For best enforceability, both sides should have their own lawyer and time to review. Then, once ready, it should be signed and notarized.
