[TX] As a private citizen not involved in a case, how can I file an affidavit requesting a judge’s recusal?
If you are not part of the case, the party who is has to motion the court and ask for the judge to recuse themselves. You and/or they can file a complaint with the State and their actions can be looked into.

How do I write a judge recusal affidavit? I am a member of the public and not involved with the case. I observed evident bias (every one of the petitioner’s counsel had their objections sustained and the respondent’s were all overruled—she is pro se). The judge did not act according to the best interest of the court, with outbursts, and this is not the first time she has done this. She is on the "Texas Wall of Shame" for her very clear anti-women sentiments. She consistently does not respect the decorum of the courtroom, siding with one party every hearing.

I understand that you’re feeling frustrated about what you observed in court. Can you tell me if you have any prior experience or knowledge about legal documents or affidavits?
I wrote an affidavit after the last hearing and had to write a grievance with the State Bar of Texas due to personal attacks towards me by the opposing counsel (again, not part of the case).

Are you looking for assistance with drafting the affidavit, or do you also need guidance on the proper process for submitting it to the court?
Drafting.

Is there anything else the family lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they’ll be able to help with your affidavit drafting.
No.

Good morning. My name is Alex and I’m a legal expert on the site. I look forward to helping you and answering any questions that you may have. I know you have concerns about the actions of the judge and their conduct. How are you this morning?
Doing well, how are you?

Good, thank you for asking. Can you share with me your role or involvement in the case? Also, what state are you located in?
I am not part of the case. My boyfriend’s sister-in-law is in a child custody case that has turned into madness. I am in Texas.

Yep, that is what she is doing. She is just trying to get some more affidavits from individuals who witnessed this hearing and/or previous hearings to strengthen the recusal.

If that is what you want to provide her, you can look online for a blank affidavit form. In it, clearly state to the best of your knowledge everything that you experienced firsthand, and then have it notarized.
