You would be able to file for reinstatement once the outstanding fines are paid. But if you want a hardship license, you would file for that hearing through the DMV.

My license was suspended due to a judgment. I assumed this debt was included in my Chapter 13, but because I wasn’t able to complete my Chapter 13 due to being out of work, the attorney issued an order of suspension.

I want to try to get at least a restricted license because I found a new part-time job. It’s better than nothing. So I figured I would write a payment agreement for installments and ask for at least a restricted license until it is paid in full. Is that the correct thing to do?

I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with a suspended license, especially when you're trying to get back on your feet. Have you already communicated with the court or the DMV about your situation and the possibility of a restricted license?

No, the attorney doesn’t return calls.

Were there any specific terms or conditions outlined in your Chapter 13 plan regarding your debts and license suspension?

No, my license wasn’t suspended then.
