After I fill out my document for EIN, what are my next steps?

I understand you're looking for guidance on the next steps after filling out your EIN document. Have you already submitted the document to the IRS?

No, I'm not sure how to do that.

Are you planning to use the EIN for a specific purpose, such as starting a business or opening a bank account?

I have a business.

Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they'll be able to help with submitting your EIN application to the IRS for your business.

Not that I know of, besides it being a Shopify store.

Hello! Legal Eagle here. I'm reviewing your issue in detail.

Did you do it for your LLC?

That's correct.

Once you submit the application online, you’ll get your EIN immediately and there is no waiting. After you have that, you can use it to:

  • Open a business bank account
  • Set up your Shopify payments properly
  • File taxes
  • Register on other sales platforms

You’ll also want to make sure it’s tied to your LLC name, so the info all matches across the board.

How do I submit it to the IRS?

It says the document is completed but it doesn't have a submit button.

You can get an EIN directly from the IRS by clicking here: Apply for an EIN | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov)

I wouldn’t use a third-party site — go straight to the source. Once you go there, click the blue “Apply Online Now” button. From there, it’ll walk you through step by step. When you’re done, they’ll give you your EIN immediately, and you can download and print a confirmation letter (called the EIN Assignment Notice).

Oh okay, thank you!
