They also have a duty of good faith and fair dealing in every contract. Refusing to update you on payment can be seen as bad faith. Since this is governed by your master agreement, it's also worth reviewing the contract's payment terms and any provisions on remedies for late or non payment, as those terms typically control how a claim like this would be pursued (for example, through direct demand, mediation, or a breach of contract action in an Ohio court). Hello, I'm an independent contractor and have been performing work for a company. However the company was acquired recently and during the acquisition it caused the payments for work to be delayed. For about two months now they have been telling contractors that they are working on the issue. I've requested a paper check and they state they cannot do that.
