Hello. I need to create a will to pass my inheritance to my son. I want the will to be carried out after my son is married.

I understand you need a document for passing your inheritance to your son. Have you already drafted a will?

No.

Are there any specific assets or instructions you want to include in this document for your son’s inheritance?

Yes.

Is there anything else the lawyer should know before I connect you?

No.

Thanks for using AskaLawyer. My name is Evan and I will be answering your question. What state are you a resident of?

California.

Evan

You can use a template to create a last will and testament, allowing you to pass your assets to your son. You can fill in the blanks to name your son as the beneficiary and print and sign.

You can sign the will after he gets married if you want. You'll need to sign in the presence of two witnesses who do not stand to inherit under the will (California Probate Code - Section 6110-6113). California does not require notarization, though this would provide an extra layer of authentication.

Where will I sign?

Evan

At the end of the document. Please let me know if you have any additional questions I can clarify or help with. Thanks for using AskaLawyer.
