How do I transfer the deed of my late mother’s Mississippi home to my name to sell it?

You will need a lawyer to make an application to probate the will and be appointed. Then a fiduciary deed transfers title to you, and you sign as executor under the deed. You need to open probate in Mississippi if the house is located there. Mississippi Probate Lawyer Referral on Avvo.

Hello, I was left my mother’s house in Mississippi, she passed in Sept. How do I go about transferring the deed to my name? I want to sell the house.

I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Have you located her original deed for the house in Mississippi?

Yes, thank you.

Do you know if your mother had a will or if the property is going through probate?

She does have a will that says I’m left the house. No one would contest because I’m the only child.

Is there anything else the Real Estate Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they’ll be able to help with transferring the deed.

That will be all.
