Good morning. I live in Virginia. I’m starting the process for my Revocable Trust and was wondering—is a Certificate of Trust a good document to use for my bank? I was told I’d need one for my insurance company when changing the name on my policy. Just want to make sure I’m going in the right direction.

[TN] How do I document a will executed by proxy when the testator can’t sign?

Looking for additional affidavit for a TN will to be executed at the time of signing which fully conveys that the person executing the document possesses the necessary legal capacity to execute his or her documents but is choosing to execute the documents by proxy for a valid reason. Executor is elderly and although does have the mental capacity, no longer has the physical capacity due to being legally blind as well as loss of fine motor skills.

[TX] Can I transfer a car title with a Small Estate Affidavit?

Hi, I just filled out a small estate affidavit on eForms. This is a little complicated, but my brother-in-law passed away in Culberson County, Texas back on February 14th, 2024. His two sons, the heirs, said that they do not want his pickup truck and trailer, but are letting me take over payments on them so that I can buy them outright and own them both. However, this form says they are the heirs and that I need to sign this in Texas. I live in MN. What to do?

[FL] Am I liable for my late husband’s credit card debt?

My husband passed in April. I’m getting requests from credit card companies addressed to “Estate of…”. The house was in his name and I am the successor. No other assets or money—lived month to month. Am I responsible for his debt and can they come after the house? It’s 3–5 cards, maybe $10k total.
