Hello, I have a question about tenants leaving a rental with 2 days' notice for one, and no notice at all from the other.

My ex-fiancé is threatening to get a restraining order against my current boyfriend, saying he won’t be able to come around him OR the kids. Is there any way I can stop him?

My LLC owns a townhouse that my daughter lives in. If I include my daughter as a co-owner of the LLC, will she control the house if I die?

A Shakopee police officer falsely charged me for a misdemeanor I didn’t commit. I should have been charged only for not having a Minnesota license — I had an active Arizona driver’s license but was living full time in MN and was honest with the officer immediately. (I’d assume/hope his camera was on during the traffic stop.) What are my options? Now I’ve found out that Minnesota temporarily suspended my driving privileges. I want to receive damages for this.

I am an RN providing home care for a client in Minnesota. His family has asked for all staff to sign this nondisclosure agreement, and I would like to have it reviewed before signing it.

I was convicted of kidnapping, which requires me to register as a predatory offender (Level One). Once or twice a year police can come to my house unannounced. Two times the police came to my residence and I wasn’t home. Instead of calling me, the police started questioning my neighbors about my whereabouts—asking if I live at my residence and if they’ve seen my cars there. They then questioned the owner of the building with the same questions and implied that I’m living out of town, which made the owner demand that I show up at his office within an hour to prove I was in Minnesota. I did, but he still didn’t believe me. Later I came home and the lock on my door was changed—another attempt to see if I was living at the apartment. I went to the office to get keys to the new lock. Then I checked in with my Section 8 counselor and she told me that the predatory offender person at the police station went to the head of Section 8 and disclosed my criminal background. I’ve been homeless ever since. I have recordings and text messages to support my claims.

I did receive a letter that I was being sued, but I wasn’t sure how to handle that since I’ve given the car back — and the payment amount was still above $16K after taking the vehicle.

Hello — My mother changed my father’s Will. In October 2020, my mother requested that I review my father’s Will that was left on his laptop so that it may be notarized. At this time, my father was bedridden with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease. In this version of his Will, the house was left solely to me to inherit. After reviewing the Will, I informed my mother that the house was left to me. I showed her my father’s laptop so that she could view this section of the Will, which declared my father is “not married” and that the house would go to me. She immediately requested that we go visit my father in his bedroom. When we did, we asked if his intention was to leave the house to me. He replied along the lines of, “I can’t deal with this right now.” My mother and I then exited the room. I memorialized the conversation between my mother and myself in a text message to my then-girlfriend. In these messages, I describe what I saw in the Will, my mother’s reaction to the Will, my father’s statement, and the conversation between my mother and myself after speaking to my father. We had never asked my father again to explain his Will. The Will was notarized a couple of days later in the presence of two neighbors, myself, my mother, father, and the notary. I moved to Seattle with my partner in May 2022. I requested a copy of the Will from my mother in September 2022, shortly after a stay in a psychiatric hospital in Seattle. When I received the Will, I noticed that it had been changed, and the provision of the house was completely deleted. I sent emails to my mother and asked her why she had changed the Will, and if the original laptop was still in existence. She denied changing the Will and claimed that my father dictated his wishes that he wanted in the Will in front of the neighbors. She suggested that due to my mental health, I did not remember the provisions in the Will that I reviewed. When I replied to the email that she was lying, and I had text messages that would confirm this, she didn’t reply. I acquired a copy of the deed to the house through Minnesota attorney. On this deed of the house, it says that my mother and father owned the house as a married couple — although they were never married. My father succumbed to his condition and passed away on December 19, 2022.

I’m not the biological father, but I was with the mother through her pregnancy while the biological father was harassing her to get an abortion. I’ve included the child in my family like he’s my own, gave his mother a car, and did anything I’ve been asked to. Now the biological father is fighting for custody.

My daughter goes to school where her father resides and we were never married. Who has full custody in the state of MN?
