Friend got a DUI and was charged with possession of marijuana found on the passenger's floor that was from someone else or a previous passenger. Can that passenger be charged with possession of marijuana later on in court?

[IN] How long does it typically take for the EEOC to notify an employer of a discrimination charge?

I have an attorney on file and a case filed with the EEOC. Charge was filed on the 8th. I recognize that they have 30 days to either agree to mediation, post a position statement, or try and get an extension, but my two big questions here are going to be this: even though the EEOC has up to ten days to give an employer notice, in this case a major university, how long does it usually take for them to actually get the notice on average, and second on average, when could I actually know that they are going to agree to mediate with this timeline? The reason why the latter is a big question of mine is because the witnesses that still work at the university are scared of being retaliated against and I know will not speak with my lawfirm at all due to fear of being fired like I was and the people who I do know would be willing to speak I'm having some difficulties tracking down their numbers because they don't work for the employer anymore and also aren't in the state either which is taking me a long while to find any leads on them.

[IN] Does a land purchase agreement need to state that an existing mortgage will be paid off from sale proceeds at closing?

I have typed up this land sale agreement and we are the sellers, but we still owe approx. $27,000 on the land to be paid off at the time of closing with part of the money from the sale. Does that need to be stated anywhere in this agreement, or no, that would just be something I tell the title company and they will take care of it at closing?

[IN] What legal options exist for an employee who suffers repeated workplace injuries due to unsafe conditions?

I worked as a Facility Maintenance Technician in Indiana. Over the years, my co-workers and I have had many different minor injuries and accidents due to a complete lack of safety equipment, training, or other guidelines. One manager in my department has very recently made an effort to provide PPE and enforce stricter safety regulations, but it is clearly just to avoid any consequences for their many years of negligence, and not out of concern for the well-being of my co-workers and me. I am interested in pursuing some form of legal action, including a lawsuit, if I can.

[IN] Does accidentally bumping into a neighbor and making normal household noise count as criminal harassment?

Apparently the individual living downstairs had a lawyer from Honduras write up a complaint to the police claiming I'm harassing them. Indiana. So an officer showed up and said, "Hey so apparently you bumped her in the hallway and stomping on the ground in the apartment." I told the officer I remember earlier this week we crossed paths when she opened the door. I opened the other door on her left and she was taking up all the space, so our shoulders rubbed or grazed. That would have happened to anybody who took more than half the friggin door. We never even talked to them before or even know their names. Never got a noise complaint from management either. They had to give the officer my plate number because they didn't know who I was. I'm just so flabbergasted by what's happening. Harassment is targeted. I told the officer no way anyone got bumped or shoved from that. The stomping isn't targeted, sometimes we just storm off the living room. Hell, she hits the ceiling with a broom sometimes when we use the microwave after midnight. How credible is this? Is this just empty threats? We never had communications from them, or communicated with them except left a note on their door about the incessant noise. Thanks for reading!

I gave temporary custody of my children to someone and now they are taking me to court to get permanent custody. They are in another state. Do I have to hire a lawyer from that state or can I hire one where I am?
