I am looking to get papers together for a legal separation, but I also want to have another document drawn up that puts a cut-off date on my covering my wife's phone and car insurance (car is titled in both of our names) that she was telling me she would start paying me for (I have text messages of this) but has never started, and now is demanding I sign it over to her.

My 29-year-old son passed away in October with no will. He has a personal loan of about $13,000 and a credit card with a balance of $3,300. His bank accounts were joint accounts with me. He has a car that is not running and sitting in his former roommate’s driveway. Scrap value of the car is $680. The title (as well as any of his debts) are solely in his name. Most importantly, I need to get rid of the car. I contacted the BMV and they said I had to go to probate to be able to transfer the title to my name. I inquired about the car’s value of less than $5,000 and was told I still needed to go through probate. I then went to Lorain County Probate and they advised me that I would have to open a full administration probate case and post a bond due to his debts being more than his assets—which seems excessive to get the title. Do I have any other options as far as the car goes? Are there any ramifications if I allowed the roommate to report it as an abandoned vehicle and had it towed? I didn’t want to go this route for fear I would pass the hassle on to someone else. What do I need to do with his debts? I sent both companies a copy of his death certificate. Since then, the credit card company is asking for his estate/probate information. I have not heard back from the personal loan lender. My name is not on any of his debts. Car title was in his name only. I’m in Ohio.

Hello. Estate question. I'm currently 56 years old. I have an adult child who will be my beneficiary. I currently have her listed as a beneficiary on my bank accounts, retirement account, life insurance, and any other assets. I have a transfer on death filed for my car and home. Is there anything else I can do other than prepay my own funeral expenses to keep my daughter from going through probate when I die?

I recently formed two LLCs; one to hold the real estate, building, and equipment for a carwash, and the second LLC is the car wash business itself. I need to form an operating agreement between these entities for the state of Ohio. The company 1 will pay the company 2 rent for a loan that company 2 is paying to the previous business owner. I have that Letter of Intent with the terms to close the deal.

Will this be able to have my brother sign off the vehicle title to his friend on my behalf to make her the owner without me being present at all?

A tenant moved a woman and her kid in without telling me and they aren’t on the lease, so in my mind it’s a breach of contract for having additional people living there. But now they’re saying they have 90 days because a kid is living there.
