My husband wants to add me to a land deed that was bequeathed to him, not deed it to me and remove him. How do I do that? It's land that was bequeathed to him individually and we built a house on it which has both of our names on the mortgage. He wants to add my name to the land deed as well, which I am not currently on.

Subject: Legal Guidance Needed – Child Abuse Disclosure at Former Private School I’m seeking legal guidance regarding a serious disclosure my 10-year-old son recently made in therapy. During a counseling session (originally scheduled to address a separate bullying incident at his current school), my son revealed that when he was 7 years old and attending a private school in [Texas], he was emotionally, physically (threatened), and psychologically abused by the school’s owner. He described three separate occasions where he was “abducted into the office” (his words), threatened with harmful language, and almost kicked. He also reported seeing other children taken into the office and returning visibly upset—crying, rubbing their chests, or covering their lower bodies. We immediately contacted DFPS to report this, but the initial report was marked “not to be investigated.” After my son shared additional details about the other children, I called again the next morning to provide that information but have not received a response. We are also aware that, during the time our son attended the school, the owner was reportedly involved in an “alleged” sexual harassment scandal that is currently part of an ongoing lawsuit. At this point, I am unsure of the proper legal steps to take and whether we should pursue this through law enforcement, DFPS follow-up, or civil action. I want to ensure my son’s rights are protected and that any other affected children are safe. Could you please advise on: The appropriate next steps we should take, Whether we should retain legal representation, and If so, what type of attorney would be best suited for this matter (child abuse, education, or personal injury). Thank you for taking the time to review this. I can provide written notes of my son’s disclosures and copies of communication with DFPS if helpful.
